BioWatt continues to expand it’s operations in the UK through our involvement with Privilege Project Finance and the acquisition of another existing Biogas CHP plant at Buttermilk Hall Farm.
BioWatt has added the operation and asset management of Biomass Future Generation to it’s portfolio of plants under operation.
James Lloyd, BioWatt CEO: “Now operating 4 plants, this is an important step on the way to becoming one of the top operators of AD projects in the UK.”
BioWatt is building considerable experience in a variety of AD operations, including: biomethane to grid, CHP, agricultural and food waste facilities. Each “type” has its own special requirements and regulatory/ operational challenges.
The plans for “Buttermilk” include the refurbishment and repowering of a plant which is now almost 5 years old and has suffered from significant under-investment in repairs and maintenance. The goal is to increase and stabilise the average performance and then to look for opportunities to further improve the profitability of the asset. The goal is challenging, given the historic lack of investment; however, having gone through a similar process at Buttermilk’s sister plant (Station Works), BioWatt is confident this could be come a solid, profitable asset for its new owners.
