As construction nears completion on our latest project, BioWatt welcomed local parish councils and the regional NFU to tour the project and get to know the project team.
The 50,000 tonnes per annum renewable natural gas (RNG) plant is due to commence operations in October and inject it’s first renewable molecules into the gas network in November – making enough RNG to supply the whole of Wincanton Town’s gas needs!
“It’s vitally important we meet and get to know the neighbours – and for them to meet us and put a human face to what they see happening in their community. So much wrong information, myth and exaggeration is promoted by those objecting to the growth of renewables and sustainable farming that it’s important that people cut through the gossip and get to see the projects first hand”
JAMES LLOYD, CEO at BIOWATT FM.
We had surprisingly great weather for the day – over 70 Parish members and councillors during the day, culminating in a 40 strong party of local NFU members getting a tour and hot food from the local pub – The Nog Inn – and throughout the day, sandwiches and cake from the Lovington Bakery – both who stepped in last minute (thank you for doing so).
Everyone seemed to enjoy their visit and take the opportunity to ask questions and get answers first hand
