PROJECT NAME: BIOGAS FEASIBILITY STUDY
CLIENT: LONDON BOROUGH OF HOUNSLOW
The London Borough of Hounslow approached BioWatt Developments to assist them with their thinking concerning a piece of land which they owned inside the Borough. The large area was brownfield and adjacent to a large wholesale food market. The Council appointed BioWatt to review the potential options for generated biogas from the market’s food waste, as well as the Borough’s and neighbouring Borough’s organic waste collections.
BioWatt, using our in-house project development tools, were quickly able to generate a number of technology and feed mix options for consideration. A summary technology evaluation was provided, along with detailed financial modelling of 5 of the preferred options. Modelling was undertaken on the basis of a third party investing in the project, or the Council themselves acting as a third party investor. BioWatt were highly commended for the detail, swift turnaround and commerciality of the report.
