BioWatt’s latest development project is making great progress. The main civil and ground works are largely complete and the tanks are up and waiting for fit out.
The 50,000 tonnes per annum anaerobic digestion plant, access, clamps, biogas upgrading, grid entry, gas pipeline, power connection, CHP, lagoons, and associated works are due to complete later this year – with first gas injection expected some time around November.
“BioWatt have undertaken the same role on 3 previous projects, building on our experience of the complex regulatory and interface requirements such projects bring. We’re proud to be contributing to the development of new renewable infrastructure in the UK, while supporting economically and sustainable agriculture.”
GEORGI ZLATEV, CHIEF TECHNICAL OFFICER at BIOWATT SITE SERVICES.
Despite the unseasonably wet and cold weather continuing well into June, the project is barely 2 weeks behind programme and in line with the capital budget. Preparations are now well underway for seeding and feeding of the plant, which is expected to commence around September-time.
BioWatt is now also preparing to recruit an operations team to take on the day-to-day running and management of the plant. Information of upcoming job opportunities can be found here.
